The Animation for Centre de la Photographie Genève Book Series
As part of the Centre de la Photographie Genève book series, I was responsible for the cover design of the first two editions—Exposition de Photographie and Femmes Violences—as well as the creation of a short 3D animation to commemorate and promote their release. The cover compositions were constructed using vector shapes extracted from photographic images within each book, carefully selecting forms that resembled the initials of their titles—‘E’ and ‘P’ for Exposition de Photographie, and ‘F’ and ‘V’ for Femmes Violences. These elements were then integrated with the black boxes used in the book’s interior design, establishing a cohesive visual language across both the printed and digital formats.

For the animation, I sought to bring these visual elements into a hyperreal yet surreal space. Using 3D modelling, scanned textures, and realistic motion, I created an environment where the books appear as tangible objects moving within an almost dreamlike setting. This approach not only highlights the materiality of the publications but also reflects my ongoing interest in chance, surrealism, and hyperrealism, subtly weaving these concepts into the project’s execution.
