This was one of the projects in my Master of Design course, which aimed to encourage designers, as visual creators, to look at their own internal issues and present them to the world in visualised form. In this project, I worked on a series of moving posters titled ‘The Tourist’, which consisted of elements I created and collected myself, such as 3D scanned self-portraits, slogans and found images, to visually represent the emotional context of the time. Most of the elements are distorted and broken, expressing feelings of fear, loneliness, and humiliation. However, these elements are a visualisation of my raw emotions, precariously balanced in space, struggling to adapt to a new environment for the first time in my life. The project was further developed by adding sounds recorded in Basel, such as the murmur of the tram and the commotion of a departmental school opening party. As a result, the project was selected for the BYOB (Bring Your Beamer) Basel exhibition in 2023 and exhibited in May of that year.
